Physiotherapy Reservoir: How We Work
1. Primary Consultation
Your physiotherapy consultation includes a conversation about your health concerns and a detailed review of your medical history, along with a thorough assessment. We gather information about your chronic condition, musculoskeletal or sports injuries to decide the best manual therapy approach that meets your individual needs.
2. Learning and Treatment Strategy
With a clear understanding of your condition, it's time for us to provide you with information. Through visual aids like anatomy models and detailed posters, we explain your condition comprehensively. Then, we'll talk about your options for manual therapy and hear what you have to say.
3. In-Clinic Treatment
At our physiotherapy clinic, your hands-on treatment, be it dry needling, joint mobilisation, Clinical Pilates, remedial massage, or a blend of various therapies, is always delivered with a friendly smile.
4. Exercise Programs and Support
Our treatment extends beyond just hands-on methods. We continue in supporting you to prevent future injuries, which can occur to anyone—after all, injury prevention isn't just for those currently injured!

FAQs
Is a medical referral necessary to visit a physio?
No referral is required to see a physio. Simply book your appointment online at our physiotherapy clinic, and we’ll collaborate with you to develop a personalised treatment plan.
Can you assist with chronic pain conditions?
Certainly, we provide support for chronic pain management. We understand its impact on daily life and aim to assist in its management. The Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program allows those with an EPC plan to access up to five allied health sessions per year, and our experience with chronic conditions under this program is extensive. For further information, check out our chronic pain page here.
Is your clinic experienced in treating athletes?
Absolutely, we do! With a background in collaborating with AFL teams and maintaining connections with numerous AFL athletes, our team is well-equipped to work with athletes. Whether your goal is to join the Magpies, Hawks, or just enhance your performance as a runner or supporter in your children’s soccer games, we cater to athletes of every level and ability.
Will treatment commence on the day of my initial assessment?
Usually, you can start your treatment on the same day as your initial assessment. There might be exceptions, such as when a referral for further assessment is required. But as a general rule, you can look forward to beginning treatment on the day you’re assessed.
What is the location of Specific Physiotherapy?
Specific Physiotherapy is conveniently situated at 149 Plenty Road, Preston, Vic, making it easily accessible for your physiotherapy needs.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
The required number of physiotherapy sessions is tailored to your specific condition and aims, so there’s no blanket number that applies to all. We’ll talk about the likely number of sessions needed at your first appointment and update you on any changes throughout the course of your treatment.
Are TAC and WorkCover patients accepted at your clinic?
Our clinic offers care for private patients as well as individuals under TAC and WorkCover. To get more information, we encourage you to contact us.
